Mendham High School Athletics

MENDHAM – The Mendham High School fall athletic teams began play in a week that featured
scorching temperatures.


Boys Soccer
The Minutemen edged Roxbury, 3-2, in the season opener on Thursday, Sept. 7. Mendham
netted two goals in the second half.
Max Bziukiewicz scored two goals, Griffin Coutts added a goal, Anders Farley, Teo Valianatos
and Raul Gonzalez all had assists and Will Andrews made seven saves in net.

The Minutemen take on Randolph and Montville this week.


Field Hockey
Mendham opened the season with a 4-0 shutout of Morristown on Saturday, Sept. 9. Mendham
put in a pair of third-quarter goals.
Julia Schoenbrodt put in two goals, Riley Reardon and Lily Chandler both scored, Lizzie Parker
had an assist and Halle Ferrara recorded seven saves.

Next up for Mendham are Chatham and Randolph.


Girls Soccer

Mendham fell to Morris Knolls in the season opener, 6-1, on Thursday, Sept. 7. Lia Manuel

scored and goalie Brynn Gambuti made four saves.

Upcoming opponents include Mount Olive and Sparta.


Girls Tennis

Mendham defeated Sparta, 5-0, in the opener on Thursday, Sept. 7. Sofia Cicarone won 6-1, 6-3 at first singles, Maya Gieszcynski took a 6-0, 7-5 match at second singles, Siena Tiboni prevailed 6-2, 6-4 at third singles, Anneliese Scala/Liliana Hurley cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at first doubles and the second doubles pair of Kaitlyn Rostiac and Logan Hanson won 6-2, 7-5.


Girls Volleyball
Mendham fell to Sparta, 25-16, 25-23 on Thursday, Sept. 7. Rachel Havey had seven assists,
Catherine Rudd added six assists, Kate Barban finished with six kills and Jane Klosowsky totaled seven digs.


Mendham takes on Roxbury and West Morris this week.
