MHS Roundup

MENDHAM – The Mendham High School boys basketball team picked up a pair of victories over the week to improve to 7-3 on the season.
The Minutemen cruised past Dover, 46-26, on Friday, Jan. 5. Mendham had a 15-4 first-quarter
advantage. Kevin King led the Minutemen with 17 points and Brendan Brunnock put in 11.
The team won its fourth in a row following a 48-31 victory over Warren Hills on Saturday, Jan. 6.
King and Brunnock netted 18 points apiece. Brunnock hit four 3-pointers in the win.

Boys Fencing
Mendham (3-3) lost to Chatham, 19-8, on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Brendan Harris went 2-0 in saber. The Minutemen defeated Kinnelon, 18-9, on Thursday, Jan. 4.


Ice Hockey
The Minutemen (4-5-1) lost to Morris Knolls, 4-1, on Thursday, Jan. 4. Ian Aikenhead put in the
lone Mendham goal in the first period. Goalie Gavin Thrun made 25 saves.


Girls Basketball

Mendham (7-2) fell to West Morris, 47-44, on Wednesday, Jan. 3. WMC had a 14-4 second-quarter advantage before Mendham responded with a 19-9 third quarter. Lia Manuel led Mendham with 20 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals, and Halle Ferrara totaled 14 points.

Girls Fencing
Mendham (2-4) lost to Chatham, 19-8, on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Alyson Holmes went 3-0 in epee for
Mendham.

Wrestling
The Minutemen (2-8) had a busy week with a number of matches. Mendham fell to
Pequannock, 39-29, on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Aidan Reilly won by forfeit at 106 pounds, Eduardo
Bollera took a 9-4 decision at 120, 126-pounder Pravith Siriwardhana won by major decision,
Hudson Loures won by forfeit at 144, Paul LeBow won by major decision at 165 and Ralph
Langone pinned in 3:12 at 190.
Mendham lost to Morris Knolls, 54-13, on Thursday, Jan. 4. Reilly won by major decision at 106,
P.J. Rooney was victorious via sudden victory at 138 and Owen Lieberwirth (144) and Brayden
(190) had decision victories.
