MENDHAM – The Mendham High School girls lacrosse team opened the season with three victories to start 3-0.

In a 10-9 season-opening victory over Glen Ridge on Tuesday, April 2, Sophia Cardella scored five goals and had two assists and Amelia Eichman added three goals. Goalie Sabrina Saunders made 11 saves.

Mendham got past Kent Place, 15-9, on Thursday, April 4. Cardella netted seven goals, Sienna Laracca added four goals, Grace Monahan totaled two goals and two assists, Cristiana Laracca scored and had two assists and Eichman scored and had two assists.

Mendham ended the week with a dominating 16-3 victory over West Morris on Saturday, April 6. Cardella put in five goals, including the 200th of her high school career, Eichman, Sienna Laracca and Cristina Laracca each scored two goals, Grace Monahan and Lexi Alofs both scored and had an assist and Shea Shoulberg recorded a goal and two assists.

Baseball: Mendham defeated Hillsborough, 5-1, on Monday, April 1. Dylan Swarts pitched five innings and allowed two hits and one run while walking three and striking out six. Swarts had three doubles offensively and scored two runs to go with an RBI. Will Warman finished with two hits.

The Minutemen (1-1) fell to Roxbury, 4-0, on Saturday, April 6. Kyle Phillips went 6.2 innings and pitched a one-hitter for the Gaels. Roxbury broke a scoreless game in the fourth inning when Fabio Marcano hit a three-run home run and Colin Richter had an RBI triple.

Boys Lacrosse: Mendham (1-2) opened the season with a 10-8 loss to Mount Olive on Tuesday, April 2. Will Pyznar scored two goals and Cristian Forlenza, Patricio Grob, Ryan Lazzara, Hudson Loures, Fred Nunan and George Monahan scored goals.

The Minutemen fell to Randolph, 11-3, on Thursday, April 4. Nunan, Pyznar and Sawyer Schuurmans all scored for the Minutemen.

The team defeated Oratory Prep, 13-8, on Saturday, April 6. Monahan scored five goals to go with two assists, Nunan put in four goals and had four assists, Schuurmans scored two goals and Patricio Grob and Tyson Ross both scored.

Boys Tennis: Mendham (0-2) lost to Chatham, 3-2, on Thursday, April 4. Owen Kilmer won a 6-2, 6-1 match at first singles and Kabir Kaushalk prevailed at second singles, 6-3, 6-7 (5), (10-7).

The team lost to Christian Brothers, 3-2, in the semifinals of the Lancer Showdown at Livingston on Saturday, April 6. Kilmer won 6-2, 6-4 at first singles and Kaushalk won a 6-2, 6-2 match at second singles.

Girls Golf: Mendham (0-1) lost to Morristown-Beard, 226-221, on Thursday, April 4.

Softball: Mendham (0-2) fell to Mount Olive, 10-0, on Friday, April 5. Emily Schneider struck out nine in the circle. The team then lost to West Morris, 15-0, on Saturday, April 6.
